Prizes
All entries will be judged by a committee of three judges following a scoring rubric. One trophy is awarded for each category.
Categories
Entries must be submitted on a maximum 6”x 8” base. No larger entries may be submitted. Entries may be of any scale and any period.
- Single Figure
- Large Figure (Monster / Vehicle)
- Group of Figures (squad)
- Diorama (figures plus terrain and/or vehicles)
- Other category if deemed applicable by the judges
Note: This competition is open to all miniatures, but please remember this is a family friendly convention. HUZZAH has the right to refuse any entry due to inappropriate content or size restrictions.
Judging Criteria Defined
Ability and Execution: The technical proficiency used in the painting and modeling of the entry. Obvious technical faults are mold lines, sloppy joins, rough primer, or sloppy paint. Additional bonus points will be awarded for entries that are themed to that Huzzah’s annual theme.
Competition Rules:
Single entry per person per category.
Entrants must have painted the entire figure/vehicle themselves. No commissions or team entries.
You may not enter any miniature that has previously won any type of prize or award in any other competition.
The greatest care will be afforded to all entries by HUZZAH staff, volunteers, and judges. We will do our best to ensure the safety of all entries. HUZZAH will provide a disclaimer releasing us from any responsibility for any lost or damaged miniatures.
Entries must be received by 1 pm convention Saturday. See the convention desk to confirm the entry placement table.
The figures/vehicles will be on display throughout the convention on Saturday for judging and voting.
The Miniatures Painting Competition Awards Ceremony will be held at approximately 7.30 pm on Convention Saturday (at the time for evening announcements).
By entering the contest, you give the HUZZAH rights and consent to post/publish pictures of the figures and Artists where we deem necessary.
All entries must be picked up on Convention Saturday before 09.00pm.
